Who we are

Cobalt Studio is a software studio based in Malta. We are responsible for the personal data collected through this website, bycobalt.studio.

For anything in this policy, or to use any of the rights listed below, email bycobalt.studio@gmail.com.

What we collect and why

We only collect what you choose to give us, plus anonymous visitor statistics.

  • If you asked for our free guide: We no longer offer the guide. If you asked for it, we hold your first name, your email address and what you told us you were thinking of building. We use these to send occasional emails from Cobalt Studio about building apps, with the consent you gave by ticking the box on the form. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • When you use the grant checker: Your company name, your email address and the answers you give (project type, budget, location, company size and prior state aid). We use these to work out your estimate and to follow up with you about it.
  • When you book a call: Your name, your email address and anything you add to the booking. We use these to hold the call and to follow up afterwards.
  • When you message us: Whatever you send us by WhatsApp or email, which we use to reply to you.
  • When you visit the site: Anonymous statistics such as which pages are viewed, which site visitors came from, their country and their type of device. This uses no cookies and does not identify you.

For enquiries, bookings and visitor statistics we rely on our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us and in understanding how the site is used.

Cookies

The site itself sets no cookies. There is one exception, and it is optional.

On the App Launch Pad pages we ask whether we may use the Meta Pixel, an advertising cookie from Meta (Facebook and Instagram). If you accept, it tells Meta that you visited the page, whether you clicked to book and whether you completed a paid booking, so that we can see how our ads perform. Meta may also use this information as described in its own privacy policy. If you decline, or make no choice, it is never loaded.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of those pages.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the services we use to run the site and reply to you:

  • Brevo: stores the mailing list from our former free guide and sends those emails.
  • Web3Forms: delivers grant checker submissions to our inbox.
  • Calendly: handles call bookings.
  • Stripe: processes App Launch Pad payments taken when you book.
  • Google: provides our email.
  • Meta: provides WhatsApp and, only if you accept it, the Meta Pixel.
  • Vercel: hosts the site and provides the anonymous visitor statistics.

Some of these companies process data outside the European Union. Where they do, the transfer is covered by safeguards recognised under EU law, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

People who asked for our former free guide stay on our list until they unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.

Enquiries, grant checker submissions and bookings are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows from it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it or ask us to limit that use, and ask for it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

To do any of this, email bycobalt.studio@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner in Malta (idpc.org.mt).

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
